Philippines Baseball Group’s 2024 Spring Training in SoCal a Major Success

The Philippines Baseball Group (PBG) kicked off the summer season in a big way with its 2024 Spring Training in Southern California, bringing together over 150 Filipino-American baseball players from across the U.S. This annual event continues to grow, providing players with top-tier coaching, competition, and a sense of community as they prepare for the summer season.

 

A Season of Growth and Development

Spring Training served as an opportunity for players of all levels to develop their skills under the guidance of PBG’s dedicated coaching staff. Coaches worked closely with players on fundamentals, advanced techniques, and game strategy—helping them refine their game before the summer competition.

“This event is all about preparing our players for success,” said Will Picketts, a key organizer. “We bring in talent from all over the country and give them the tools to grow, compete, and represent Filipino baseball at the highest level.”

 

Building the Filipino Baseball Community

One of the biggest takeaways from Spring Training wasn’t just the development on the field—it was the camaraderie and connection among Filipino-American baseball players. Athletes from different states and backgrounds came together with a shared love for the game and their heritage, strengthening the community that PBG continues to build.

Looking Ahead: The Summer Season & Filipino World Series

Spring Training is just the beginning. Each year, this event kicks off an exciting summer season for PBG, leading up to the Filipino World Series—a premier event where the top Filipino baseball talent comes together to compete at the highest level.

With momentum from a successful Spring Training, PBG is ready for an exciting 2024 season and is already looking ahead to future events that will continue to grow the game for Filipino players.
