Philippines Baseball Group Expands to CCL: Collegiate Team to Join California Collegiate League This Summer

The Philippines Baseball Group (PBG) is making history by fielding a collegiate team in the California Collegiate League (CCL) this upcoming summer. This marks a significant step in the development of Filipino baseball, providing young athletes with an opportunity to compete at a high level and gain exposure on an international stage.

 

Bringing Filipino Baseball to the CCL.

The CCL is one of the top summer collegiate leagues in the United States, featuring elite college players who aspire to play professionally. By entering a team in this prestigious league, PBG aims to showcase the talent of Filipino players while giving them access to top-tier competition, scouts, and development opportunities.

“This is a huge milestone for us,” said Will Picketts, Director of Baseball Operations. “It’s an opportunity for Filipino collegiate players to prove themselves against some of the best talent in the U.S., and it opens doors for more international baseball collaborations.”

 

Opportunities for Players

The team will consist of top Filipino and Filipino-American collegiate players, offering them:

  • High-level competition in a well-respected summer league
  • Exposure to MLB scouts and college coaches
  • A chance to represent the Philippines on a bigger stage
  • Elite training and development in a professional environment
